Our Hardwood Stain Grade Bayside Beadboard are made from "A" grade Veneer Core. In recent years the wood industry has moved away from manufacturing Beadboard from solid hardwoods and has moved towards using Veneer Core or MDF laminated with a hardwood veneer of the desired wood species. The reasoning behind this is that most Beadboard sheets are thin and hardwoods tend to warp too much when cut this thin. The Veneer Core is more stable and less conducive to warping. Veneer Core is important to you if you are staining because unlike an MDF substrate, the veneered core will accept stain as if you were using a solid wood. We have chosen to laminate the BeadBoard on to a veneer core instead of a MDF core for a superior, stained finish while not compromising the authentic appearance of wood.

Each kit includes enough material to cover an 8" wide wall with a 41 1/2" finished height. Two sheets of Beadboard are included; each sheet of Beadboard is 31 1/2" X 48". Both the Bottom and Top rails are notched on the bottom and the top respectively so that the sheets will fit into them. This also makes it easier to finish the BeadBoard. If you want a lower finished height, simply cut the sheet down to the appropriate height; always take the lower and upper rails into account when doing your calculations.

The stair kit includes 4 panels cut to 22" x 40". The panels are cut to this size in order for the beads on the 4 panels to line up seamlessly. The total length of these 4 sheets comes to approximately 7" feet. If you require a higher finished height, please contact us with your dimensions, keep in mind however that we can only ship a maximum of 32" x 48" sheets by Fed Ex or UPS. If you want anything larger, a transport truck is required and shipping charges will apply.
