For ceilings, just calculate square footage.  Each 8ft plank covers 3.67 square feet.   As most ceilings are wider than 8 feet, seams or joints should be taken into consideration.   You have several options:  bevel the ends 3/16” and stager the planks just like hardwood flooring; Add some shaker style beams to the ceiling and have a joints hidden by the beams.   This not only hides the seams but adds a unique architectural detail.

For walls, Elite Wide Planks are not sold in kits, you simply order the BeadBoard base and upper rails, which have a 3/8" slot to accept the planks and the corresponding amount of Wide Planks. Although the planks are 5 3/4 wide, only 5 1/2" will be exposed. To calculate material required for walls, measure the perimeter of the room or space, in inches and divide by 5.5 to give you the number of planks required.
