The Tuscan fluted column has a classic look dating back to Roman times. It can stand on its own or it can be wrapped around an opening as a casing to give it a sense of elegance. The shaft is 96 to 97" long (8ft). The outside dimension is 7 5/8' square and the inside is 6 5/8' with the panels being 1/2" thick. The base and cap are primed MDF and only suggested for indoor applications. See the columns help section for complete details on the fluting.

The column is shipped unassembled so that it can be used to wrap a jack post, lolly post or an existing support. The shaft is made up of four sides that go together like a puzzle, using lock mitre joints for easy assembly. All the smaller pieces do require some assembly.

The kit includes: 4 Fluted 8ft panels that make up the shaft of the column; 1 True to the period, architecturally correct Tuscan base which is to be assembled on site; 4 pieces of 3" Georgian crown to create a capital; and the necessary 1 1/8" wide banding to trim the top capital. Everything you see in the photograph is cut to size.
